Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, President of Malaysia Chinese Association did a good work again. Not because of he remains his seat as the President of the Party after 10/10 EGM, but it is because he starts to fully apply social media marketing to create Online Branding! It is the way to create an online presence!

Facebooking during office hours
What is the first thing you do once you reach your office? Fat chance, most of us will log in to Facebook to check the latest updates of our friends. What if one day, when you tried to log in to your Facebook and is greeted by the message “This site is prohibited†message? It turned out that your company has restricted the access to social networking sites. The increasing of Facebook phenomenon is raising employer concern with the worry that employees will waste time on Facebook for personal networking.

While I was travelling to work this morning, a local radio station was broadcasting on a discussion about a popular social networking site – Facebook. Listeners called in and shared about their experience using Facebook. Nothing very interesting – I am also a Facebook addict. However, one listener caught my attention. She was saying that her “aunties†colleagues are also addicted to Facebook, and log in to “plant plantations everydayâ€. “Auntiesâ€, according to her, referred to “women in their 40sâ€. Members of Generation X? Where the generation gap has gone to?!

According to Internet news, China blocked top 3 social media community since July 2009. No exact reason announced and acknowleged by China government.
