Chile Earthquake
A massive earthquake hit Chile on 27 February 2010. The 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck 115km northeast of the City of Concepcion and 325km south-west of Santiago, the capital of Chile. The quake was the seventh strongest earthquake in recorded history.
As death toll rising, aid pledges poured into Chile from around the world on Monday after the government made its first requests for help. United Nations officials told Agence-France Presse (AFP) that President Michelle Bachelet specifically requested mobile bridges, field hospitals, satellite phones, electrical generators, disaster assessment and coordination teams, water purification systems, field kitchens and restaurants.

Up to today, the number of churches attacked has reached eight, but according to Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Home Minister and also an Umno vice-president, the situation is not serious.
“So far the attacks have involved stone throwing and arson attempts. There is no serious damage,†said the Home Minister, referring to the latest report on the surveillance on places of worship. – The Star.

PayPal is starting to venture into Malaysia market by expanding its service and introduce MYR currency. This is indeed good news for Malaysians, as Malaysia PayPal users do not have to be concerned about the currency conversion. Furthermore, Malaysians are able to withdraw PayPal balance to local banks.
On last Friday evening (11 December 2009), PayPal had organized a PowerUp Party at Neo Restaurant and Luxe Lounge. The guests are limited to 200 persons only and hence, entry tickets to PowerUp party were claimed fast. Facebook has just reached 350 million users in December 2009, and will be soon making some changes to serve the Facebook community better.
In an open letter from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to all Facebook users, Mark Zuckerberg revealed the upcoming changes to Facebook. The changes to the website will include removing the current regional networks. It is said that some regional networks are overloaded with members, and users of the particular network will share their information with all other users in the same network. For example, if I am in “Malaysia†network, and I allow my profile to be viewed by “Only Friends and Networkâ€, my friends and EVERYONE in “Malaysia†network can see my information. No wonder Facebook wants to remove the regional networks. Continue reading »
