How to Implement Search Engine Optimization
Once website is published, the foremost and immediate reaction comes to our minds, is how Search Engines can find my website?
Thus, your website need to be optimized. The most important components of SEO are the text on your site, links to, or from your site, how popular your site is and its reputation. Here are some tips that will help search engines find your website: -
Step 1:
Provide content that is unique, well-written and contains your main keywords. Regularly add new content on your site – this proves relevancy to the search engines. If your content doesn’t usually change often, add a Blog to your website (just like our 1malaysia Blog)and blog at least a few times a week. Search engines love this consistency activity!
Step: 2
Create link building, establish links on other sites that link back to your site and use your keywords. The links on your site or from the other site should use a keyword as the link. Also link to other websites on your website and this will encourage others to link to you.
Step 3:
Add a title tag with keywords on all pages of your website.
Step 4:
Limit your use of Flash or even no flash if the flash displayed is without any objective. Search engines look for text and not for animation!
Step 5:
Use your keywords in links and image ALT tags. Images are ranked on the text that surrounds them so be sure to make the content surrounding the images relevant. Use captions with your images and include keywords.
Step 6:
If your website has got Videos, make sure to use text around your videos that incorporates keywords.
Step 7:
Make sure index.html is not used on the end of your domain name within your website. You want all links to go to your domain name with no index.html appended to it.
Step 8:
Don’t try to use too many keywords within the text on your website. Search engines will notice if a word is used too often and it will work against you.
Step 9:
Use components on your website or blog such as reviews, comments, etc.
Step 10:
Start social utilities, eg. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn & etc. on your website.
