E-commerce training programme – by Locus-T Online

Many businesses in Malaysia are conducted in very traditional ways, which can be renting shop lots to operate physical shops, factory lots of both small and medium, doing advertisements in newspaper, magazine, TV, etc. To us, as Malaysian, we think that this is a must in starting and setting up business. However, when come to e-commerce business, we carry a question in mind: Doing business online, will this work?

Being established in the market of more than 10 years experience, our answer for those questions is definitely: “Yes, it works.” Many of us still unable to see great benefits of this e-commerce, which conducting transaction online, bringing much more benefits that we could ever imagine, if compared to our traditional ways of business!

Due to this reason, last 2 weeks, we were preparing seminars for those who are interested in e-commerce yet unable to see the benefits behind. Our title for our seminar was “Don’t let your business sleep, we will prove that e-commerce is profit-making.”

Although many could not make it on the first seminar conducted, still those who were attending appreciated the training as they obtained lot of knowledge and insights. Our second seminar received overwhelming response with 17 attendees present.  During our second workshop, some of the attendees asked some interesting questions. Some of them are: “How can I make my e-commerce website popular in the Internet?”, “Do we needs to pay tax from what we earn online?” etc. Well, I think, these questions are not only interesting for you and I, but also for all.

Google Adwords Local Payment for Malaysia

Malaysians using Google AdWords can now pay for the campaign charges through online banking. Online banking or online payment is a boom in Malaysia market compared to online credit card payment. Most Malaysians would prefer to transfer money online as compared to submitting their credit card information online.

Google has launched a local form of payment for its Adwords customers in Malaysia and new and existing Adwords customers can now pay through online banking via MEPS FPX, a real-time online interbank payment gateway operated by Malaysian Electronic Payment System. Previously, campaign payment can only be made by using credit card. For those who do not have a credit card, they could only pay using international bank transfers which consume time and take over 10 days to complete. With MEPS FPX, AdWords customers can pay through online banking anytime, anywhere with their account credited the next business day.

Chile Earthquake

A massive earthquake hit Chile on 27 February 2010. The 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck 115km northeast of the City of Concepcion and 325km south-west of Santiago, the capital of Chile. The quake was the seventh strongest earthquake in recorded history.

As death toll rising, aid pledges poured into Chile from around the world on Monday after the government made its first requests for help. United Nations officials told Agence-France Presse (AFP) that President Michelle Bachelet specifically requested mobile bridges, field hospitals, satellite phones, electrical generators, disaster assessment and coordination teams, water purification systems, field kitchens and restaurants.

Social Media Marketing – Facebook?

I met a client who believes strongly in internet marketing. When Locus-T proposed social media marketing to this particular client to enhance the company’s online marketing effort, they are acceptance to the idea. There is only one thing that they do not want: a Facebook page. The main reason? The company does not want anyone to write bad things on a platform that they created themselves. For them, this action is equivalent to setting a trap for themselves.

They are thinking: People can say whatever they want at forums and portals, but we cannot control this. After all, the forums and portals are not mine. Why should we make our own platform to let people complaint about my products or services and spread rumours about me?

Now, let us see why a company or website should have a Facebook page.

Success Stories of Legend Kitchen – From a traditional company to online company

Most of the companies nowadays do not like to change. However, as time evolved, changes needed in order to stay competitive. There are might be many changes that need to be considered, however choosing the correct change is crucial. It’s all started with the right change in Legend Kitchen.

Legend Kitchen is a company manufacturing built-in kitchen cabinets, wardrobe and cabinets. Started in the year of 1994, Legend Kitchen was a very tiny company with low capital and small office setup. They tried their best to supply kitchen setup at a very reasonable price to their customers. However, due to the cost of materials and staff were expensive at that time, their profit margin were very low at that time.

Economic crisis come in sudden in the 1997 had made things that were already hard harder.
